STRANDED MENTALLY ILL WOMAN GIVES BIRTH AT AGASHA HEALTH CENTRE, FAMILY SEARCH BEGINS 17th December, 2025 A mentally ill woman has given birth to a baby boy after being found stranded in active labour on the streets of Agasha, Benue State. The incident occurred at about 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, when concerned individuals intervened and rushed the woman to the Primary Health Care Centre (PHCC), Agasha, where she was safely delivered of the child. Medical officials at the facility confirmed that laboratory tests were conducted on the woman, but noted that both mother and baby now require proper care and support from family members or responsible guardians. Preliminary information suggests the woman hails from Mbakor, Tarkaa Local Government Area, with Wannune identified as her origin. Five kidnappers who have carried out kidnapping activities at Isheri area of Lagos were arrested by the Nigerian Police.The Invigorated Intelligence Response Team {IRT} under the auspices of the office of the Inspector General of Police carried out the massive onslaught on the kidnappers of some residents of an estate in Isheri area of Lagos state and arrested some suspects.A statement from the Force Public Relations Officer,Don Awunah said the Onslaught yielded prompt result as the hoodlums were eventually arrested.''This feat was achieved as a result of due diligence and intelligence led policing exhibited by members of the Force and the zeal shown by public spirited citizens to rid our society of crime.It will be recalled that some residents of an Estate in Isheri area of Lagos state were kidnapped on 27/09/2016 and were subsequently released by their abductors,'' the statement said.The suspects are : Natei Okunna,gang leader,James Kegbe,,Thankgod Segede and Trust Bourdilon.The suspects were arrested at different locations where they had gone to spend their share of the ransom.They,in the course of investigation,volunteered confessional statements admitting their involvement in the kidnap incident.The Inspector General of Police wishes to restate the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to fight crime,especially the prevalent scourge of kidnapping to a bearable and tolerable state.He urges Nigerians to always be law abiding and see themselves as stakeholders in this noble cause,'' the statement said.
