NSIB CONFIRMS CESSNA 172 ACCIDENT AT SAM MBAKWE INTERNATIONAL CARGO AIRPORT, OWERRI SAYS INVESTIGATION ONGOING The Nigerian safety investigation bureau (NSIB) has launched a full investigation into an accident involving a cessna 172 belonging to skypower express which occurred at approximately 20:00 local time on Monday 16 december 2025, at Sam Mbakwe international cargo airport, Owerri, Imo state. The aircraft was en‑route from Kaduna international airport to Port harcort when the crew declared an emergency and diverted to Owerri. During the approach to runway 17, the aircraft crashed in the approach area. Four occupants were on board. Fortunately, no fatalities have been reported. Airport emergency services were promptly activated, arrived on scene, and secured the area. Former Minister of Defence,{State},Musiliu Obanikoro today,October 17,2016 reported to the EFCC.Obanikoro had been on the wanted list of the EFCC over his involvement in the armsgate for which former National Security Adviser,Sambo Dasuki is being prosecuted by the Federal Government.The former minister is still telling the operatives of the Commission his involvement in the armsgate.One more photo below.
