 IMO STATE POLICE COMMAND PRESS RELEASE OF 6TH DECEMBER, 2025 IMO POLICE COMMAND INTENSIFY CRACKDOWN ON KIDNAPPING, VIOLENT CRIMES ALONG OWERRI–ABA EXPRESSWAY As part of ongoing efforts to curb kidnapping and other violent crimes along the Owerri–Aba Expressway, a high-powered team led by the Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Aboki Danjuma on Saturday, 6th December, 2025, inspected suspected kidnappers hideouts in Umuhu Autonomous Community in Ngor-Okpala following credible intelligence on Stanley Morocco Oparaugo, currently at large. The delegation included the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Chioma Egu; Chief Pathologist, Imo State Specialist Hospital, Dr. Ibeaja Okechukwu; members of the Ngor Okpala Vigilante Group led by Mr. Henry Ikpe; and the Chairman of Ngor Okpala LGA, Hon. IGP TAKES ANTI-CORRUPTION WAR TO THE DOORSTEPS OF CIVIL,PUBLIC SERVANTS.{PHOTO}.

                                                                   The months ahead,will definitely be rough for civil and public servants who have corrupt tendencies at both the federal,state and local government levels.This is even as the Inspector General of Police {IGP},Ibrahim Idris,has merged the X-Squad unit with the Complaint Respond Unit {CRU} of the force and em-powered them to search for,and get corrupt civil and public servants arrested.It would be recalled that the IGP during his inaugural speech did not hide his deep hate for corruption.He therefore vowed to put the necessary machineries in place to get both the men and officers of the Force and public/civil servants who are corrupt arrested and ensure they are dealt with in accordance with the law.The merging of the X-Squad and the CRU is the first step in that direction.Speaking in an exclusive interview with the AUTHORITY in Abuja,the Officer in Charge of the CRU,Abayomi Shogunle,an Assistant Commissioner of Police {ACP},disclosed that plans have been concluded for the unit to start hunting for public and civil servants who have the penchant of carting away re-sources meant for the public.''Since the IGP,Ibrahim Idris,has approved that the X-Squad should be part of the responding agents of CRU,then we should be ready to see recoveries of looted funds and apprehension of public and civil servants who abuse their office.Just as we have seen the recovery of 2.75 million naira from an Assistant Commissioner of Police {ACP},such recoveries will not be limited to the Nigeria Police Force alone; it will bee extended to public servants at the federal,state and local government levels,'' he disclosed.
