 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. ABSENCE OF COUNCIL CHAIRMAN STALLS ARRAIGNMENT OF OFFICIALS OVER IDPS' FOOD SCAM.

Image result for idps in nigeria                          The arraignment of officials of Mafa Local Government council indicted in a fraud case bordering on stealing of food meant for internally displaced persons in the council area could not go ahead today as planned owing to the absence of Shettima Lawan Maina,caretaker chairman of the council who was to be docked alongside Umar Ibrahim a supervisory Councillor and Bulama Ali Zagebe.
I brahim was arrested early this month for conspiracy and selling 300 bags of rice donated by the Danish Refugee Council for IDPs in Mafa council area.He had claimed during interrogation that he acted on the directive of Maina.When counsel to EFCC K. Sanusi sought leave of the court for the accused to take their pleas,counsel to the 2nd and 3rd defendants raised objection based on the absence of Main in court.Thereafter,Justice F. Umaru adjourned the case to the 9th of February 2017 for prosecution to amend the charge and arraign the suspects accordingly.
