 M23 says hundreds of Burundi soldiers captured in latest Congo offensive The Rwanda-backed M23 group has captured hundreds of Burundian soldiers during its latest offensive in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, a rebel official said, as clashes continued despite a warning from the Trump administration. Last week M23 entered the strategic town of Uvira near the border with Burundi, less than a week after the presidents of Congo and Rwanda met in Washington with U.S. President Donald Trump and affirmed their commitment to a peace deal known as the Washington Accords. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Saturday that Rwanda's actions in eastern Congo violated the Washington Accords and vowed to "take action to ensure promises made to the President are kept". Rwanda denies supporting M23 and has blamed Congolese and Burundian forces for the renewed fighting. AMBODE APPOINTS 37 NEW HEADS OF ADMINISTRATION.

Image result for ambode                   The Governor of Lagos State,Mr Akinwunmi Ambode has approved the appointment of 37 new Heads of Administration in the Unified Local Government Service.The Chairman,Local Government Service Commission,Mr babatunde Rotinwa,who disclosed during the Commission's meeting on monday at the Old Secretariat,Ikeja,explained that the development is to further consolidate on the gains of the reforms in the State Public Service.He added that apart from the 37 newly appointed Heads of Administration,Twenty other Heads of Administration have been redeployed to different Local Government and Local Council Development Areas.Rotinwa maintained that since the Local Government is the closest to the populace,any effort aimed at strengthening it is a step in the right direction which will at the same time infuse new ideas,reinvigorate revenue drive and boost staff morale and productivity in long run.He however used the opportunity to express appreciation on behalf of the Governor to all Heads of Administration for their commitment,loyal and cooperation over the years and urged them to continue with the same spirit in their new offices with renewed dedication and commitment.
