 Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government. Russia will continue, including in Mali, to combat extremism, terrorism and other harmful phenomena and will continue to provide assistance to the current government," said Peskov, AFP reported. The Russian Defence Ministry had claimed on Tuesday that units of its African Corps prevented an attempted coup on April 25, 2026 in Mali. EFCC GRADUATES 331 DETECTIVE CADETS ON FRIDAY.{PHOTOS}.

Image may contain: one or more people, people standing and outdoor                    The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC on January 13,2017 graduated 331 detective cadets trained alongside 1498 officers of the Nigerian Air Force at the Ground Training School,Nigerian Air Force Base,Kaduna.The colorful passing out parade climaxed 6 months of rigorous training to equip the officers in becoming anti-graft warriors instilled with discipline and integrity.Speaking at the occasion,the Chief of Air Staff,Air Marshall S.B.Abubkar,who doubles as the Reviewing Officer,congratulated the operatives of the EFCC for their gallantry and brilliance.''I want to congratulate the operatives,I am sure you will find the training useful in your career'' he said.Abubakar,while listing the qualities exhibited by the new operatives of the EFCC said ,''I have been briefed that you demonstrated commitment,hard work and courage during training.These attributes are essential in your career progression''.More photos below.
