Anambra to go after houses without proper drainage in order to combat Erosion Worried by the rising menace of gully erosion, the Anambra State Government has threatened to enforce regulations requiring residents to provide proper drainage for storm water from their homes. The State Executive Council (ANSEC), which announced the proposed enforcement, lamented that erosion remains an existential challenge in Anambra, blaming the situation on careless actions by some communities and lapses by regulatory bodies in enforcing environmental laws. The vigilant officers and men of the NCS Sokoto/Kebbi/Zamfara Command has arrested a suspected smuggled vehicle concealed in a truck loaded with firewood.Addressing reporters at the Command headquarters,the CAC Compt,Sani Madugu told newsmen that the truck was arrested along Tangaza-Ruwawuri road coming into Nigeria.He said examination conducted by his officers revealed that the truck was found to contain 1 used Honda Accord 2006 Model with chassis no.{IHGCCM564867090155}. Similarly,another Mitsubishi Canter with Reg: No. XA 683 TSF carrying cow dung {Manure} was arrested by the Command's Roving Team B,along Kamba Road in Kebbi State.Examination further revealed that the Canter was loaded with 37 bales of second cloths.The CAC used the medium to warn smugglers that Customs is always a step ahead of them and call on them to imbibe legitimate trading.
