 Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government. Russia will continue, including in Mali, to combat extremism, terrorism and other harmful phenomena and will continue to provide assistance to the current government," said Peskov, AFP reported. The Russian Defence Ministry had claimed on Tuesday that units of its African Corps prevented an attempted coup on April 25, 2026 in Mali. Oguji of the State High Court sitting in Awka,Anambra State,on a four count charge bordering on Conspiracy and Stealing.
First City Momument Bank had petitioned the Commission that they received report from one of their customers,Girls Secondary School,Awka,over an unauthorized web trabsfer of over N10 million on their account with the bank.The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to them.In view of their plea,the prosecution counsel,M. T. Iko asked the court to fix a date for the commencement of trial and urged the court to remand the defendants in prison custody.However,the defense counsel,J.N. Okongwu asked for a short date to file his bail application.The case was adjourned to 22 March and 4,9 May,2017 for trail.The defendant are to be remanded in prison custody pending the determination of their bail.
