2026 Mother's Day: First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Urges Mother's To Guide Children In Wisdom Nigeria's First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu wants mothers to continue to teach and guide their children, passing down wisdom and strength that would benefit future generations. This is in her message commemorating 2026 Mother's Day, where she celebrates all mothers across the country, noting that their love, care and sacrifices do not go unnoticed. Describing all mothers who nurture, love and shape families as the heroes of the nation, the First Lady says the nation is gratefu, not just for their big sacrifices, but quiet moments that truly define a mother's love. She prays that they all live to enjoy the fruits of their labour over their children, grand-children and great grand-children.
Yesterday sunday,a Medical Doctor identified as Dr Orji committed suicide by jumping off Third Mainland Bridge into the lagoon after he received a phone call.It was gathered that the doctor,who was driven by his driver had ordered him to park his Pathfinder Nissan Sports Uitility Vehicle {SUV} marked LND476EE on the bridge,before taking over the steering.The deceased who was said to be returning from church,had taken back the car keys from the driver at Adeniji Adele,drove a few metres and then parked before jumping into the lagoon.As at 7p.m,operatives of the Lagos State Rapid Response Squad {RRS} and the Marine Police Unit were still battling to rescue him.Already,the police have deployed boats and drones in the search and rescue mission.Confirming the incident,the General Manager,Lagos State Emergency Management Agency {LASEMA},Mr. Adesina Tiamiyu,said proper investigation would be conducted on the incident by the appropriate authorities.He said ''The agency received a distress call off a man whoo parked his grey coloured Nissan SUV {as pictured above} with registration number LND 476 EE at about 4.50 pm on Sunday,around Adekunle,inward Third Mainland Bridge and jumped in to the Lagos lagoon.Preliminary investigation at the scene revealed that the man said to be medical doctor,and named Orji who was said to be driven by his driver,suddenly ordered him {driver} to pull over,got down from the car and suddenly jumped into the water from the bridge.The vehicle and driver have been taken to Adeniji Adele Police Station for further investigation,while effort is ongoing to recover his body from the lagoon''.Why he committed suicide is yet to be known but there will be an update later.More photos below.
