 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. EFCC SECURES INTERIM FORFEITURE ORDER OF N50 MILLION ON FORMER ENUGU CJ'S BANK ACCOUNTS.

No automatic alt text available.                                                                            Justice A.M Liman of the Federal High Court sitting in Enugu,Enugu State has ordered an interim forfeiture of a sum of N50,000,000 {Fifty Million Naira only} contained in a Zenith Bank plc's account of a former Chief Judge of Enugu State,Justice Innocent Umezulike.The order was made in response to a prayer of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC,seeking the freezing,seizure and forfeiture of properties and assets linked to the former Chief Judge.
Umezulike is being investigated in connection with his alleged involvement in abuse of office and receiving gratification.Specifically,the former Chief Judge will be arraigned at a Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt,Rivers State on a four-count charge bordering on false asset declarations.Although the application for the arraignment has been filed before the court,no date has been fixed for the arraignment.
