The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. Unending tears in Ihiala today as Dangote trialer loaded with cement ran into people around Total Filling Station killing over 20 persons at a spot and left many with serious injuries.A dangote truck fully loaded with cement inexplicably veered of the road and plunged inside the gutter close to Fist Bank.Not less than 25 persons lost there lives in that ugly incident,The casualties were mostly hawkers ranging from young children hawking gala,pure water,aki n ukwa,chips to old women selling okpa bread and other varieties of goods consumables.It was gathered that the driver absconded and fled from the scene as soon as the incident happened.There was wailing all over the place as people were running frantically trying to know if they could identify any of the casualties.An ambulance conveyed the corpses t the nearby mortuary at our Lady of Lourdes Ihiala,Anambra state.According to another source,some of the victims are responding to treatment while some are still in critical condition.More photos below.
