 Terrorists, banditry activities in Northwest have reduced – Shehu Sani Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has disclosed a decrease in the activities of terrorists and bandits in the Northwest. Sani said the recent killings of some top terrorists’ leaders could have been responsible for the decrease. Posting on X, the former lawmaker wrote: “In the last few weeks, there is a noticeable decrease in terrorist and banditry attacks and kidnappings in the North Western parts of this country. “The elimination of some of the top terrorist leaders must have been responsible.This is commendable and should be sustained.” In the past weeks, notable bandit leaders have been killed in the North. Those eliminated include- Haliru Kachalla Sububu or Buzu, Kachalla Tukur Sharme (killed by rival gang), Sani Black, another prominent bandit leader, killed along with his brother and two children, Kachalla Makore, Kachalla Mai Shayi Kachalla Tsoho Lulu and Mai’Yar Gitta. EFCC UNCOVERS ANOTHER CASH HAUL AFTER A TIP FROM A WHISTLE BLOWER TODAY IN BALOGUN MARKET LAGOS.{PHOTOS}

       No automatic alt text available.          A tip from a whistle blower today led operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC,to intercept huge sums of money in various currencies at the popular Balogun market in Lagos.The monies include 547,730 Euros and £21,090 as well as N5,648,500.The total haul is about N250m at the prevailing exchange rate at the parallel market.The intercept followed information that about N250 million cash was being moved somewhere in the market for conversion into foreign currencies by unnamed persons.Operatives responded timely,met the money in Bureau de Change office,but a large chunk of it had been converted into Euro and Pounds sterling.The BDC operators found in possession of the monies claimed they were acting on behalf of their boss who sent the money to them from one of the Northern states in Nigeria.Two persons apprehended in the course of the raid are helping the Commission in its investigation.Please find attached pictures of some Nigerian Nairas,Euros and British Pounds recovered moments ao by EFCC Operatives.More photos below.
