NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. The Lagos State Government has announced that all Public and Private Primary and Secondary Schools operating in the State are to resume on Tuesday,18th April,2017.A statement issued today by the Ministry of Education noted that there is a need for all schools {Public and Private} to adhere strictly to the Y2016/17 Academic Calendar jointly agreed upon at the stakeholders meeting held prior to the commencement of the academic year.It stated further that the adoption of a uniform calendar makes for proper planning and ensures that pupils and students attend school for the number of days required in the terms,reiterating that the resumption for the 3rd Term was fixed for Tuesday,18th April,Mid-Term Break will hold between Thursday,1st and Friday,2nd June,2017 while the term endss on Friday,14th July,2017.The statement also wished the pupils and their parents Happy Easter celebration following the successful completion of Lent.
