 ADC NAMES AMAECHI AS ATIKU’s RUNNING MATE IN 2027 ELECTION  The African Democratic Congress has selected former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, as its vice-presidential candidate for the 2027 presidential election, pairing him with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. The party announced Amaechi’s emergence in a statement issued in Abuja by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, following consultations with party stakeholders, coalition partners and representatives from across the country. It adds that the decision was influenced by Amaechi’s performance in the party’s presidential primary, where he emerged runner-up, as well as his extensive record in public service spanning the legislative and executive arms of government.

OGUN COMMENCES 7.5KM ROAD CONSTRUCTION+PROMISES TIMELY COMPLETION.{PHOTOS}.

Image may contain: outdoor                    The Ogun State Government has commenced the construction of a six lane,dual carriage,Ogun Standard road,along the Enugada-Adatan-Ajitadun-Mokola-Ake axis in Abeokuta with the assurance that the project and other ongoing projects in the state,will be completed in record time.The state Governor,Senator Ibikunle Amosun,gave the assurance,yesterday sunday,while monitoring a demolition exercise to pave way for the 7.5km road that comes with modern day furnitures such as street lights,median,walk ways and drainages on both sides.Governor Amosun who reaffirmed that his administration would not abandon any project,promised that more developmental projects that would be of immense benefits to Ogun citizens would still be done before the end of his tenure.Speaking with newsmen earlier,the Deputy Governor,Mrs Yetunde Onanuga,thanked the people for their cooperation,saying there was no resistance of any kind against the demolition which is a clear demonstration of the fact that the people appreciates the development the government is bringing to the area.On his part,the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure,Arch,Olamilekan Adegbite said the state government is paying a total sum of N8billion as compensation for the houses affected by the demolition exercise adding that about N2bn out of this sum,has already been disbursed.Arc. Adegbite added that apart from payment of compensations,the state government is also providing temporary relocation support for the aged and physically challenged affected by the demolition exercise.As early as 6am on sunday,some of the residents of the affected structures were seen removing the roof of their buildings and moving out their belongings in a show of cooperation and understanding of the government effort.Some of the residents who spoke with the media include Mr.Sina Akinpelu and Mrs Monsurat Akinbile.They both expressed satisfaction with the developmental effort and urged the government to fast track the compensation plan as well as ensure timely completion of the road.
