NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. Senate President Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki,has expressed grief over the demise of the Chairman of Chanchangi Airlines and foremost businessman,Alhaji Ahmadu Chanchangi,who he described as an accomplished entrepreneur and philanthropist.Saraki in a statement by his Special Adviser,Media and Publicity,Yusuph Olaniyonu,said the late Chanchangi would be missed for his philanthropy,diligence,management finesse andd humble lifestly.He said Chanchanhi would be remembered as one of the nation's great men who grew from a humble beginning to become a highly respected international figure through dint of hard work.He commiserated with the immediate family of the deceased,especially his son,Honourable Rufai Chanchangi,a member of the 8th House of Representatives,the people and governments of both Kaduna and Taraba States.While praying Allah to grant the soul of the departed a place in Aljanah Firdaus,Saraki called on his family to take solace in the fact that Chanchangi lived a highly impactful life worthy of emulation.The Taraba state born Kaduna based billonaire died along Kaduna-Abuja Road,on his way to a hospital in Abuja yesterday morning the 19th of April 2017.More photos below.
