 ‎‎NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION ‎ The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges.  ‎ ‎A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters  and two H-125 helicopters. ‎ The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. ‎ ‎The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, described the acquisition as another significant milestone in the Federal Government’s sustained investment in the modernization and re-equipment of the NAF noting that the new pl...

Image may contain: 1 person, close-up                  The Senator representing Osun West,Isiaka Adeleke,is dead.Mr Adeleke,aged 62,died today sunday morning at a hospital in Osogbo,the Osun State capital,hours after he engaged in a political meeting which terminated late Saturday.Until his death,Mr Adeleke Chaired the Senate committee on capital market.He was in the Senate for the second time,having first represented Osun West between 2007 and 2011 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.He could not return to the Senate in 2011,after he was defeated by Mudashiru Hussein of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria.But in 2014,after a failed governorship bid,he defected to the All Progressives Congress which sponsored him to contest the 2015 Osun West senatorial election which he won to earn a second time in the Senate.Mr Adeleke became the first elected Governor of Odun State in 1991 on the platform of the Social Democratic Party.He sponsored a bill to protect whostleblowers and security informants.May his soul rest in peace.
