TERRORISTS, BANDITRY ACTIVITIES IN NORTHWEST HAVE REDUCED- SHEHU SANI. (PHOTO).
Terrorists, banditry activities in Northwest have reduced – Shehu Sani Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has disclosed a decrease in the activities of terrorists and bandits in the Northwest. Sani said the recent killings of some top terrorists’ leaders could have been responsible for the decrease. Posting on X, the former lawmaker wrote: “In the last few weeks, there is a noticeable decrease in terrorist and banditry attacks and kidnappings in the North Western parts of this country. “The elimination of some of the top terrorist leaders must have been responsible.This is commendable and should be sustained.” In the past weeks, notable bandit leaders have been killed in the North. Those eliminated include- Haliru Kachalla Sububu or Buzu, Kachalla Tukur Sharme (killed by rival gang), Sani Black, another prominent bandit leader, killed along with his brother and two children, Kachalla Makore, Kachalla Mai Shayi Kachalla Tsoho Lulu and Mai’Yar Gitta. Today friday April 2,marks the 23rd year after 1994 Rwanda Genocide against the Tutsi by the Hutus in which over 1 million Tutsi were killed.Flags will fly at half-mast during the national commemoration week which marks the beginning of the 100-day genocide memorial period.Government launched the Genocide on April 7,1994,and stopped on July 4th by Rwanda Patriotic Army.President Paul Kagame will light a flame of hope today friday at Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre.The flame,which will stay lit throughout the commemoration period,symbolizes Rwanda's hope of a better future.More than 400 guests including international leaders,dignitaries,survivors and their families and representatives of survivor organisations will attend the ceremony.It is followed by a walk to remember in the afternoon,then a night vigil at National stadium.More graphic photos below.
