 Lagos Court Jails NOGASA Chair, Fatuyi Phillips 21 Years  for N43.5m Fraud    Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday, November 18, 2024, convicted and sentenced Fatuyi Yemi Philips, Chairman, Natural Oil and Gas Suppliers Association of Nigeria, NOGASA, to 21 years imprisonment for N43.5m fraud.   The Lagos Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on April 5, 2022, arraigned Philips alongside his firm, Oceanview Oil and Gas Limited, on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N43, 502,000.00   Count one reads: "Fatuyi Yemi Philips and Oceanview Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited, on or about the 28th day of September, 2016 at Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, with intent to defraud, obtained the aggregate sum of N43, 502,000.00 from Elochukwu Okoye and Elebana Unique Ventures Nigeria Limited on behalf of WAPCIL Nigeria Limited under the false rep

Image may contain: 3 people, people sitting and indoor                The FGN Townhall meting which was held at Abuja today and Nine {9} Minister participated in the mid term hall meeting.According to the Minister of Information Alhaji Lai Mohammed said during the town meeting that ''Our citizens need to see the value that their taxes are delivering in order to have faith in government,and for us to attract the revenue in the future.We must be able to own our own future.We cannot be a hostage to oil price or production levels.We are implementing an Economic Recovery and Growth Plan designed to reset our economy and remove our reliance on oil production,and oil revenues,for ever.We are restoring the sanctity of our judicial system.We have acted to address the leakages in government spending that make corruption possible.We are addressing comprehensively the issues in the Niger Delta that makes the production of our oil resources so vulnerable.We have restored security to the North-East and ended the scourge of Boko Haram.We were,and remain,100% committed to delivering an economy that enables all Nigerian's to achieve their ambitions,no matter how big,or small''.Okechukwu Enelamah said ''We have increased funding on Micro SMEs.We are upgrading the Industrial development centres.We are witnessing the local production of sugar in Niger and Adamawa States.We are committed to making Nigeria very competitive in the local production.We are creating an enabling environment for doing business in the country''.Audu Ogbeh said ''I encourage our youths to go into farming.the average aage of a farmer in the village is 60-64,when they clock 70 who will feed the youths?.We have restructured the Bank of Agriculture.We intend to go into agriculture that will earn foreign exchange for Nigeria.We have 20 giant rice mills that produce 100 tons each per day.7 companies in Thailand have closed down because Nigerians no longer buy their rice''.Suleiman Adamu said ''We are currently revamping all the dams to support agriculture and irrigation''.Kemi Adeosun said ''Our focus is on revenue and blocking of leakages.This government is clear about stabilizing the economy this year''.Mansur Dan Ali ''We have trained 80 Nigerian pilots that can fly on suicidal missions''.More photos below.
