 Lagos Court Jails NOGASA Chair, Fatuyi Phillips 21 Years  for N43.5m Fraud    Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday, November 18, 2024, convicted and sentenced Fatuyi Yemi Philips, Chairman, Natural Oil and Gas Suppliers Association of Nigeria, NOGASA, to 21 years imprisonment for N43.5m fraud.   The Lagos Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on April 5, 2022, arraigned Philips alongside his firm, Oceanview Oil and Gas Limited, on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N43, 502,000.00   Count one reads: "Fatuyi Yemi Philips and Oceanview Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited, on or about the 28th day of September, 2016 at Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, with intent to defraud, obtained the aggregate sum of N43, 502,000.00 from Elochukwu Okoye and Elebana Unique Ventures Nigeria Limited on behalf of WAPCIL Nigeria Limited under the false rep

The Australian High Commissioner presenting the dummy cheque to the GOC President                  According to sources,the quest for Ghana to win medala at the 2018 Commonwealth Games next April in Gold Coast,Australia has received Twenty Five Thousand Ghana Cedis boost from the Australian High Commission in Ghana.The sum was presented to the Ghana Olympic Committee by the the Australian High Commissioner to Ghana,Mr Andrew Barnes today Monday in Accra.He explained that the money was raised after a fundraising event held last March when the Queen's Baton Relay toured the country.Mr Barnes in an address before handling over the cheque to the GOC President,Ben Nunoo Mensah said the fundraising dinner held at his residence with support from the Azumah Nelson Foundation and other Ghana-based Australian businesses was a resounding success.The High Commissioner stated that he was hopeful that Team Ghana will make an impressive outing when the games get underway on April 4,2018.He added that the High Commission will also present 25 Ghana Cedis to the Azumah Nelson Foundation,which is run by legendary Ghanaian boxing icon,Azumah Nelson.The GOC President,Ben Nunoo Mensah informed the High Commissioner and his team that Ghana was determined to better their performance from the last Commonwealth Games which was held four years ago in Glasgow Scotland.He disclosed that his outfit has also started a fundraising drive to support Ghana's preparation and participation for the games,urging corporate Ghana to support.
