 Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government. Russia will continue, including in Mali, to combat extremism, terrorism and other harmful phenomena and will continue to provide assistance to the current government," said Peskov, AFP reported. The Russian Defence Ministry had claimed on Tuesday that units of its African Corps prevented an attempted coup on April 25, 2026 in Mali. NIGERIAN AIR FORCE NEUTRALISES GATHERING OF BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS IN MANGOSUM.

Image result for nigerian airforce                                                   The Nigerian Air Force component of operation Lafiya dole has conducted an air interdiction mission on some remnants of the boko haram terrorists in a village 3.42 km Northeast of Mangosum.Air Commodore Director of Public Relations and Information,Olatokunbo Adesanya said the Nigeria Air Force,NAF,had successfully provided air cover to troops of 27 Task Force Battalion thereby enabling them to repel an attack by the terrorists.He said that the battle damage assessment conducted after the strike showed that several leaders of boko haram terrorist group and their followers were killed during the attacks.Meanwhile,a sizeable cache of weapons and equipment of the terrorists group were destroyed.
