 M23 says hundreds of Burundi soldiers captured in latest Congo offensive The Rwanda-backed M23 group has captured hundreds of Burundian soldiers during its latest offensive in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, a rebel official said, as clashes continued despite a warning from the Trump administration. Last week M23 entered the strategic town of Uvira near the border with Burundi, less than a week after the presidents of Congo and Rwanda met in Washington with U.S. President Donald Trump and affirmed their commitment to a peace deal known as the Washington Accords. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Saturday that Rwanda's actions in eastern Congo violated the Washington Accords and vowed to "take action to ensure promises made to the President are kept". Rwanda denies supporting M23 and has blamed Congolese and Burundian forces for the renewed fighting. PVCs DISTRIBUTION FOR REGISTERED VOTERS YET TO COLLECT,COMMENCES IN LAGOS STATE FOR 5 SATURDAYS.

Image result for nigerian voters card                Registered voters in Lagos State who are yet to collect their Permanent Voter Cards now have another opportunity to do so as the cards will b made available for collection by their owners on five Satrudays starting from April 22,2017,at each of the 245 Registration Area Centres {RACs} of the State.This arrangement is sequel to a partnership between the Lagos office of the Independent National Electoral Commission {INEC} and the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission {LASIEC}According to a report from INEC,about 1.4 million Permanent Voter Cards are still awaiting collection by registered voters in Lagos State.This huge number of PVCs that are yet to be collected by their owners prompted the partnership between INEC and LASIEC so that such a huge number of eligible registered voters might not be disenfranchised in the forthcoming elections into the 57 Local Governments/Local Council Development Areas of the State.The distribution of the PVCs on five saturdays which has already commenced on April 22,2017 will end on Saturday,20th May,2017.
