 STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE   ENGINEERS FAROUK AHMED, GBENGA KOMOLAFE RESIGN, PRESIDENT TINUBU NOMINATES SUCCESSORS TO THE SENATE FOR APPROVAL President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has asked the Senate to approve the nominations of two new chief executives for the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) and the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).   The requests followed the resignation of Engineer Farouk Ahmed of the NMDPRA and Gbenga Komolafe of the NUPRC. Both officials were appointed in 2021 by former President Buhari to lead the two regulatory agencies created by the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA).   To fill these positions, President Tinubu has written to the Senate, requesting expedited confirmation of Oritsemeyiwa Amanorisewo Eyesan as CEO of NUPRC and Engineer Saidu Aliyu Mohammed as CEO of NMDPRA.   The two nominees are seasoned professionals in the oil and gas industry.   Eyesan, a graduate of Economics f...

A STUDENT WAS CRUSHED TO DEATH IN IMO STATE ON MONDAY,WHILE BEING CHASED BY MASQUERADE.{PHOTOS}.

                                                                                     According to one of my reporter Chinenye Genevieve,who just sent in this pictures with the caption ''A 14 year old pupil was crushed to death on monday by a fast-moving vehicle while being pursued by a masquerader a.k.a Okorosha,at Ogbaku,in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State.A witness said that the boy,who was on his way to school at about 9am,took to his heels on sighting the masquerader,while the masquerader took advantage of his fright to chase him till he ran into the path of the vehicle on the Onitsha-Owerri Road,a few metres from a police division in the area.After the incident,the masquerader was said to have mixed with other masqueraders,leaving the boy in a pool of blood.Another witness,Mr Linus Iwuji,blamed the community leaders for allowing the masqueraders to roam freely on busy roads rather than restricting them to the village square.''I blame the community leaders for allowing the masqueraders to walk about chasing people.They and their guides even rob and rape women at late hours,'' I wuji said.The Imo State Police Public Relations Officer,Andrew Enwerem,confirmed the incident.He added that the police are investigating the incident''.One more photo below.
