 South Africa says US misrepresented its policies after visa curbs South Africa's foreign ministry said on Wednesday that it ‌had noted with concern U.S. visa restrictions on some people from South Africa announced by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio a day earlier. The foreign ministry added in a statement that ⁠the U.S. announcement aligned with "the mischaracterisation of South Africa's domestic policies by fringe groups". "We maintain that challenges in our bilateral relations with the USA can only be resolved by constructive engagement through state actors on both sides of the diplomatic channel not unilateral acts," the statement said, Reuters reported. Trump has repeatedly criticized ‌South ⁠Africa since the start of his second term for what he falsely claims is the racial persecution of its white minority, citing affirmative action laws aimed at ⁠addressing the inequality that has persisted since apartheid. AMOSUN TO HOST SOUTHWEST GOVERNORS TOMORROW MONDAY IN ABEOKUTA.{PHOTO}.

Image may contain: 2 people, people smiling, hat                 Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun will host his colleagues from the Southwest, under the platform of the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN) Commission at the MITROS Gateway Annex, Ibara, Abeokuta on Monday.
The meeting will address the challenges confronting the region and set goals towards ensuring it becomes a force to be reckon with in the nation.
Other areas of common interest that the forum will deliberate upon, include security, education, agriculture, infrastructure, rail and road networks.
Expected at the one day meeting are, governors of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose; Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode; Ondo State, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu; Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.
Amosun believes the forum will further deepen multilateral and bilateral cooperation among the states.
