 Terrorists, banditry activities in Northwest have reduced – Shehu Sani Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has disclosed a decrease in the activities of terrorists and bandits in the Northwest. Sani said the recent killings of some top terrorists’ leaders could have been responsible for the decrease. Posting on X, the former lawmaker wrote: “In the last few weeks, there is a noticeable decrease in terrorist and banditry attacks and kidnappings in the North Western parts of this country. “The elimination of some of the top terrorist leaders must have been responsible.This is commendable and should be sustained.” In the past weeks, notable bandit leaders have been killed in the North. Those eliminated include- Haliru Kachalla Sububu or Buzu, Kachalla Tukur Sharme (killed by rival gang), Sani Black, another prominent bandit leader, killed along with his brother and two children, Kachalla Makore, Kachalla Mai Shayi Kachalla Tsoho Lulu and Mai’Yar Gitta. LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS PETITION TRIBUNAL TO COMMENCE SITTING FROM MONDAY.

No automatic alt text available.                 The Lagos State Local Government Election Petition Tribunal will commence the legal process that enables aggrieved parties and individuals who participated in the Saturday, 22nd July 2017 local government elections seek redress in accordance with the Electoral Law.
A statement released by the Chief Registrar of the High Court of Lagos, Mrs. A. O. Soladoye said the Lagos Division Panel of the Election Petition Tribunal, under the Chairmanship of Hon. Justice A.Olateru-Olagbegi (rtd.) will sit at No. 1 Igbosere Road, Lagos adding that the Registry of the tribunal is located within the same premises.
It stated further that the Ikeja Division of the Election Petition Tribunal, chaired by Mrs. Folasade Adetiba will sit at the Roseline Omotosho Courthouse,High/Magistrate Court, Ikeja with the Registry of the tribunal also situated at the same venue.According to the statement, the Registry of both Tribunals will open to the public from Monday, 7th August 2017 at 8 a.m daily - Monday to Friday.
