 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.      The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, has called on the media to support the Commission in the ongoing fight against corruption.
Magu made this call on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, while presenting a paper titled “Corruption and National Development: Issues, Challenges and Solutions” at the 20th Anniversary Public Lecture and Award of the Finance Correspondents Association of Nigeria, FICAN, held in Abuja.In the paper, which was presented on his behalf by Mr. Tony Orilade, Head Public Interface of the EFCC, Magu said, “Corruption is fighting back through the media and that is why I am using this platform and opportunity to call on you all, members of the Fourth Estate of the Realm, to support the fight against corruption. I have said it at previous fora and I want to say again that we at the EFCC cannot do it all alone”, stating that the agency does not “have the monopoly of knowledge or resources”.More photos below.
