The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall joined war veterans, who received a standing ovation from the guests at Westminster Abbey on sunday, for a Service of Thanksgiving and Rededication to mark the 77th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
Squadron Leader Geoffrey Wellum said he finds the service "more and more emotional each year”.
The Battle of Britain was a WWII military campaign in which the Royal Air Force defended the United Kingdom. It was the first major campaign to be fought entirely in the skies and took place between July and October 1940.

Those who fought in the campaign earned the nickname, The Few, taken from Winston Churchill's line: "Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few."
Following the service, The Prince and The Duchess enjoyed tea with the veterans at a reception and the guests watched a Spitfire and a Hurricane flypast.More photos below.
