PUBLIC NOTICE MISUSE OF NAME, OFFICE OF THE INSPECTOR-GENERAL OF POLICE The Nigeria Police Force is concerned about the persistent unprofessional conduct of a few Police officers which undermines the standards and reputation of the Nigeria Police Force. Despite repeated warnings and disciplinary actions taken against those who have been exposed, some officers are still engaging in these shameful acts that erode public trust. Even more alarming is the fraudulent use of the name and office of the Inspector-General of Police to perpetrate these illegal acts. The intention behind this tactic is to intimidate victims into believing that the IGP is aware, and approves of their illegal activities. As a result, victims are often deterred from reporting these incidents to higher authorities. We urge members of the public to report any misconduct by Police Officers to their superiors, the Heads of the Complaint Response Units (CRU) in their states or the Commissioner of Police in the state....

Ekiti State Executive Council has condemned the continuous harassment and detention of some state government officials by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC.
Commissioner for Information,Youth and Sports Development, Mr Lanre Ogunsuyi who addressed the pressmen in Ado Ekiti described the detention of the Commissioner for finance Chief Toyin Ojo and Accountant General Mrs Yemisi Owolabi as political.

Mr Ogunsuyi explained that the desperation displayed by the Federal Government is a political aberration that portrays it as incapable of understanding the best democratic ethos.
He therefore called on the EFCC to respect the rule of law by abiding by the subsisting court ruling. The Exco through their spokesman stressed that the option available to EFCC was to either grants the arrested state officials administrative bail or charge them to court if they had breached any law. Also, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Idowu Adelusi said that labour leaders in the state has already exonerated the state government on the accused misappropriated bailout fund by EFCC, hence the need for their release.
