  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report.        The new counsel for Senator Joshua Dariye, Kanu Agabi, SAN, finally closed the case of the defence, on October 10, 2017 bringing to a close a defence that began on June 10, 2016.
Agabi who was used by Dariye to replace G.S. Pwul, SAN, his former counsel who withdrew in March, told Justice Adebukola Banjoko, that the defence was ready to address the court.“My lord, I am pleased to inform your lordship that we are closing the case for the defence and will like to address you,” Agabi said.The prosecution, led by O.A. Atolagbe, raised no objections.“We have no objection to that, and we are also grateful to address your lordship,” Atolagbe said.Atolagbe, thereafter, urged the court to vacate a subsisting order, based on the request of the defence when it was led by Pwul, asking for the recall of the first prosecution witness, Musa Sunday, an EFCC operative, who was also present in court.The defence raised no objections to the oral application of the prosecution.
