  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report. IGUE FESTIVAL: OBASEKI SALUTES OBA OF BENIN+PRAYS FOR STRONGER BOND,BETTERS DAYS.{PHOTO}

     The Governor of Edo State, Mr Godwin Obaseki, has congratulated the Omo N’ Oba N’Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, the Oba of Benin on the celebration of the 2017 Igue Festival in Benin City, which kicked off on Tuesday.
The governor prayed for stronger bond among all Edo people, their friends and  neigbours as well as better days for the Benin kingdom and Nigeria.
“On behalf of the Government and people of Edo State, I congratulate the Omo N’ Oba N’Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, the Oba of Benin, and all Benin people as well as our friends on the annual Igue Festival celebration,” Obaseki said.
He added “It is my prayer that the new year brings forth good tidings and a stronger bond between the exalted throne and the Government of Edo State to consolidate on our achievements across all sectors of the state.”
He commended everyone participating in the 2017 Igue Festival, both in Benin and other parts of the world for sustaining the rich cultural heritage bequeathed this generation by our forefathers.
 The governor urged Edo people to use the celebration to forge closer ties with friends and neighbours.
“We wish His Royal Majesty a glorious celebration, excellent health and the divine wisdom to continue to lead us his people to greatness,” he said.
The annual Igue Festival is one of the biggest festivals on Nigeria’s calendar of high profile festivals and is held in high esteem by Edo people all over the world because of its significance.
