 Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government. Russia will continue, including in Mali, to combat extremism, terrorism and other harmful phenomena and will continue to provide assistance to the current government," said Peskov, AFP reported. The Russian Defence Ministry had claimed on Tuesday that units of its African Corps prevented an attempted coup on April 25, 2026 in Mali. EFCC ARRESTED A MAN EARLIER TODAY FOR £30,000 LOVE SCAM.{PHOTOS}.

      The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, arrested one Fidelis Iruedo, a suspected love scammer, for allegedly defrauding a United Kingdom citizen of £30,000 (Thirty Thousand Pounds) in a romance scam. 
Luck ran out of Iruedo, 31, after a petition to the Commission by the Nigerian High Commission, London, on behalf of one Alan Digweed, a UK citizen, alleging that the suspect had defrauded his victim of the said amount of money.Investigations by the EFCC revealed that Iruedo, who voluntarily confessed to the crime, met his victim between July and December 2017, via a date site, match.com. The suspect, while parading as a lady, procured British passport using the name ‘Tracy Anderson’ with which he used to defraud the victim.He was arrested in Abuja, during an attempt to make withdrawal in a bank.On arrest, items recovered from him include: several scam letters, 3 flash drives, 1 iphone and a laptop computer. The suspect will be arraigned in court as soon as investigations are concluded.One more photo below.
