  A manhunt is underway for man who shot a Granite City Police Officer multiple times. Officers in Granite City, Illinois, responded to a call regarding a unwanted subject near the 2000 block of Johnson Road at 2:20 p.m. on Friday, December 5th. Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with the suspect. The suspect opened fire on officers before fleeing the scene.  Unfortunately, one officer was struck multiple times. The officer was rushed to a St. Louis University Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.  A massive manhunt is now underway to locate the suspect. Authorities warn the public that the man is considered armed and dangerous. GOVERNMENT PROPOSES FIVE YEAR JAIL TERM FOR ANY ONE HARBOURING KILLER HERDSMEN.{PHOTOS}.


           The Ekiti State governor Dr Ayodele Fayose has said Ekiti Government will soon pass a bill that would imprison any body found harbouring killers herdsmen in Ekiti to a five years jail term without option of bail.
Governor Fayose made this assertion during a meeting with the members of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria and Orin community at the Osuntokun government house in Ado Ekiti.
Fayose said Ekiti State is known for peace and the state government would not allow any killing whatsoever in Ekiti land. He however said a committee would be set up that would comprise members from the state government and the communities that would be meeting at the various local government every month.
Chief Fayose also mandated every cattle rearer in Ekiti state to henceforth start registering with the state government for state permit and local government permit to allow them remain on the land of Ekiti. He said an annual fee of #5,000 will henceforth be paid to Ekiti state as a sign that ekiti state register them.Governor Fayose once again appeal to the people of Ekiti State to be peaceful and guarantee them adequate security of their lives and properties.More photos below.
