 The Lagos State Wastewater Management Office (LSWMO), yesterday, sealed off some buildings/properties across the state over different environmental infractions. They are; * A property on 34, Adeniji Adele, Lagos Island for deliberate discharge of raw sewage into the public drain causing offensive odour and sewage flowing in the community, constituting public nuisance, environmental pollution and endangering human life. * A block of Shops along Powerline Road, Meiran, Alimosho, for the illegal construction and operation of unsanitary toilet facility on a road setback without a permit, constituting public nuisance, environmental pollution and endangering human life. * A three-storey building at 38, Adeniji Adele Street, Lagos Island for deliberate discharge of raw sewage into the public drain. * A building at H29, House of Jesus Street, Langbasa, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, for the deliberate discharge of raw sewage into the public drains. LAGOS TO COMMENCE THE REDEVELOPMENT OF ADENIJI ADELE HOUSING ESTATE.

        The General Manager of Lagos State Urban Renewal Agency (LASURA), Mr. Lateef Sholebo has disclosed that the Redevelopment of Adeniji Adele Housing Phase I-IV Estate, Lagos Island will commence soon.
Sholebo, who stated this while speaking with news correspondents on the planned activities of the Agency in Lagos recently revealed that UACN Property Development Company (UPDC) Plc., and ATO Architects Consortium as prospective developers, who have indicated interest and submitted designs for the projects.
He said that the State targets construction of 2,500 housing units with all infrastructural facilities including alternative power supply and recreational facilities.
According to him, “The redevelopment of Adeniji Adele Phase I-IV Housing Estate will be using a combination of various house types at various heights to achieve the required density for the redevelopment. The project consists of Commercial and Community development as well as provisions for elevated parking spaces would make it one of the iconic estates in the State”.He said the project, when completed, will further meet the housing needs of residents in fulfilment of the government's promise to provide shelter across all division of the State.
