 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. PRESIDENT BUHARI PRESIDES OVER FEC MEETING TODAY+SOME MINISTERS GAVE PRESS BRIEFING AFTER THE MEETING.{PHOTOS}.

        PHOTOS: Today's Weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) Meeting, presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Council Chamber, State House.
FEC briefing is about to kick off. Minister of Information Lai Mohammed is presiding and also addressing the press are Ministers of Water Resources, Agriculture, Health, and Minister of State, Power, Works and Housing.
Highlights of the briefing:
1.) Ministry of Water Resources- FEC approved a memo for the completion of an abandoned irrigation project benefiting Kano & Jigawa States. This project, abandoned since 2000, is presently at 50% completion and will increase irrigation hectarage in Nigeria by more than 2000 hectares. Expected completion period for this project is 24 months. The irrigation project is one of the 116 large-scale abandoned/uncompleted projects inherited by the Ministry and they are determined to complete all abandoned projects.
