 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.        Governor Samuel Ortom has stated that he remains firm and committed to the security of lives and property of Benue people.
He stated this yesterday at Catholic Youth Center Makurdi during the dedication of Lutor Samuel Isho Adanyi by the family of Chief Benjamin Adanyi, Majority Leader of the Benue State House of Assembly.Governor Ortom said much progress had been recorded on the need for ranching of livestock as being championed by his administration especially with prominent Nigerians condemning the wanton killings in the country by Fulani herdsmen.
He stated that God had heard the prayers of Benue people and expressed hope that the displaced persons would soon return to their homes to continue with their normal activities.
The Governor also noted that the problem of payment of salaries would soon become a thing of the past as regular payments had commenced since the beginning of the year, stressing that money would be sourced and arrears cleared.
He prayed that the dedicated child who bears the same name with him would grow under the fear and protection of God and be successful in life.
In a remark, Majority Leader of the Benue State House of Assembly, Chief Benjamin Adanyi expressed gratitude to God for the gift of Master Lutor Samuel Adanyi, saying he returned God's gift to Him with thanksgiving.
In a sermon, Rev. Fr. Celestine Tyowua advised Christians to humble themselves and trust in God and they would never be disappointed.Governor Ortom, accompanied by the Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly and other top government functionaries participated in the Palm Sunday procession which ushered in the church service.More photos below.
