 Kebbi Govt Donates 10 Hilux Vehicles to Boost Security on Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway  The Kebbi State Government has handed over 10 brand-new Hilux vehicles to the Federal Ministry of Works to strengthen security for personnel working on the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway project. The vehicles were formally received by the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, who praised Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasiru Idris (Kauran Gwandu), for the donation. Goronyo described the gesture as a clear demonstration of the state government’s commitment to protecting workers and contractors on the strategic highway corridor. He explained that the vehicles will be deployed exclusively to security operatives providing cover for construction teams along the section of the super highway passing through Kebbi State.        Governor Samuel Ortom has stated that he remains firm and committed to the security of lives and property of Benue people.
He stated this yesterday at Catholic Youth Center Makurdi during the dedication of Lutor Samuel Isho Adanyi by the family of Chief Benjamin Adanyi, Majority Leader of the Benue State House of Assembly.Governor Ortom said much progress had been recorded on the need for ranching of livestock as being championed by his administration especially with prominent Nigerians condemning the wanton killings in the country by Fulani herdsmen.
He stated that God had heard the prayers of Benue people and expressed hope that the displaced persons would soon return to their homes to continue with their normal activities.
The Governor also noted that the problem of payment of salaries would soon become a thing of the past as regular payments had commenced since the beginning of the year, stressing that money would be sourced and arrears cleared.
He prayed that the dedicated child who bears the same name with him would grow under the fear and protection of God and be successful in life.
In a remark, Majority Leader of the Benue State House of Assembly, Chief Benjamin Adanyi expressed gratitude to God for the gift of Master Lutor Samuel Adanyi, saying he returned God's gift to Him with thanksgiving.
In a sermon, Rev. Fr. Celestine Tyowua advised Christians to humble themselves and trust in God and they would never be disappointed.Governor Ortom, accompanied by the Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly and other top government functionaries participated in the Palm Sunday procession which ushered in the church service.More photos below.
