 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.      Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has said his government would collaborate with development partners, the Department for International Development (DFID), towards strengthening and repositioning the Civil Service in the state.Receiving a team of the DFID in his Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta office, yesterday, Amosun highlighted the importance of the Civil Service to governance and development. 
"We want to review the way we work in the service and embrace world best practices, so as to bring back the glory of the Western region", he stated.The governor reiterated his government's commitment to create a system-driven environment in all the sectors of the economy, where institutions, rather than individuals are developed.Earlier in his remarks, Head of the Department for International Development Regional office, Mr. Robert Watt, thanked the governor for setting up a committee to work with the team towards the success of the reformation plans and strategies in the state.Speaking with journalists after the meeting, the Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Abayomi Sobande and the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Ms. Adenrele Adesina said the state is strengthening the Civil Service to be self sustaining, especially in the areas of training and capacity building, so that the civil servants in the state can compete favourably with their counterparts worldwide. @ Abeokuta.More photos below.
