 Anambra to go after houses without proper drainage in order to combat Erosion  Worried by the rising menace of gully erosion, the Anambra State Government has threatened to enforce regulations requiring residents to provide proper drainage for storm water from their homes. The State Executive Council (ANSEC), which announced the proposed enforcement, lamented that erosion remains an existential challenge in Anambra, blaming the situation on careless actions by some communities and lapses by regulatory bodies in enforcing environmental laws. Briefing journalists after the weekly executive council meeting, the Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, said it had been observed that some residents channel storm water from their homes directly onto roads, where it accumulates and worsens the erosion crisis across the state. “ANSEC has resolved to step up enforcement to compel residents to properly channel and manage storm water from their houses. TWO KIDS SET ABLAZE BY THEIR HOUSE HELP IN AWKA ANAMBRA STATE,ONE OF THE CHILDREN IS DEAD ALREADY.{PHOTOS}.

      A heartbroken man shared a touching story of how his little cousins were set ablaze by their minor house help in Awka, anambra three weeks ago.
According to him, the kids who were rushed to the hospital on that day, one of the kids identified as Ekene was reportedly lost the battle at about 1 am this morning in the hospital while the other kid Ebuka is still battling for his life.
He wrote:
May be its time to talk about this. About three weeks ago, my two little cousins met a near fatal fate as their house help, a minor set them ablaze for no concrete reason.
My boy Ekene and his brother Ebuka fought hard. This night, around 1am, news reached us that Ekene has lost the battle. Ebuka is still fighting on. Please pray for my boy Ebuka.#pray for Ebuka.More photos below.
