 Terrorists, banditry activities in Northwest have reduced – Shehu Sani Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has disclosed a decrease in the activities of terrorists and bandits in the Northwest. Sani said the recent killings of some top terrorists’ leaders could have been responsible for the decrease. Posting on X, the former lawmaker wrote: “In the last few weeks, there is a noticeable decrease in terrorist and banditry attacks and kidnappings in the North Western parts of this country. “The elimination of some of the top terrorist leaders must have been responsible.This is commendable and should be sustained.” In the past weeks, notable bandit leaders have been killed in the North. Those eliminated include- Haliru Kachalla Sububu or Buzu, Kachalla Tukur Sharme (killed by rival gang), Sani Black, another prominent bandit leader, killed along with his brother and two children, Kachalla Makore, Kachalla Mai Shayi Kachalla Tsoho Lulu and Mai’Yar Gitta.     The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan Zonal Office, today May 22, 2018, arraigned the duo of Adebunmi Raheem Adisa and Leye Adisa before Justice A. N. Akintola of the Oyo State High court sitting in Ibadan on 9-count charge bordering on conspiracy, stealing, forgery and obtaining money under false pretence. 
The petitioner (name withheld) alleged that on 29th September, 2016 the defendants sold a plot of land to him with an uncompleted building located at plot 7 & 8 Akinsola Layout, off Olorunda Abba Road, Kanku, Onikokoro, Ibadan, Oyo State. He further alleged that he transferred the sum of 2,900,000.00 (Two Million, Nine Hundred Thousand Naira) to the first defendant’s account No. 2001172496. According to the petitioner, it was when he attended the Landlords meeting in the area where the said property is located that he discovered the defendants were not the real owners of the property.The defendants however, pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against them.In view of their plea, prosecution counsel, Dr. Ben Ubi, prayed the court for a trial date and for the remand of the defendants in prison custody. Counsels to the first and second defendants, Ademola Osulale and O. Uwawah respectively, prayed the court for a short adjournment to enable them file a formal application for bail. Justice Akintola ordered that the defendants be remanded in the Federal Prison Agodi pending bail.The case is adjourned to June 4, 2018 for hearing of their bail applications.
