 U.N chief Guterres calls for countries fueling Sudan's war to be held accountable United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called on Wednesday for countries providing weapons to the warring parties in Sudan that are used to attack civilians to be held accountable. "What is happening in Sudan is absolutely horrible. The humanitarian situation in Sudan is devastating. The level of suffering of the Sudanese people is intolerable," Guterres told reporters ahead of the annual gathering of world leaders at the United Nations in New York next week. Sudan's war, which erupted in April 2023 following a power struggle between the military and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, has displaced more than 14 million people and created one of the world's worst humanitarian crises.      It was reported some days ago how a food seller was left heartbroken after being accused of water from mortuary to cook food at the Federal Polytechnic Oko in Anambra state.
It was gathered that the rumor was circulated in order to tarnish the woman's image.
Fresh reports has it that a philanthropist based in Austria has decided to help the woman popularly known as Nwanyi Nanka.
The philanthropist, Nweke Solomon Chukwudi from Nkanu LG in Enugu State but based in Austria, reached out immediately and contacted Comr. Victor Chinonso the journalist who reported the incident as he donated cash and a bag of rice to the woman.According to Victor, the rumors has further strengthened the resolve of the food seller as she has started cooking four (4) coolers of rice in other to effectively serve all her customers against the three she cooked before.More photos below.
