 Vanity Fair cuts ties with Olivia Nuzzi amid Robert F. Kennedy Jr. controversy  Vanity Fair is ending its relationship with West Coast editor Olivia Nuzzi amid controversy over her past involvement with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. while she was a Washington correspondent for New York magazine. A statement Friday from both Nuzzi and the publication said they “have mutually agreed, in the best interest of the magazine, to let her contract expire at the end of the year.” Nuzzi had joined Vanity Fair as West Coast editor in September. Nuzzi, 32, gained prominence at New York magazine for her political profiles until 2024, when it was revealed she had a personal relationship with Kennedy, then a presidential candidate and now head of the Department of Health and Human Services. She was fired from New York magazine for failing to disclose the relationship.        Lagos State government has restated its commitment to restore sanity and maintain adequate security at the Oko-Oba abattoir and lairage complex.
State Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr. Oluwatoyin Suarau disclosed this today during an inspection tour of the complex, following the recent clean-up exercise carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture, saying that government will not tolerate any form of illegal activities within and outside the complex.
He noted that the present administration would not hesitate to prosecute anyone indulging in illegal activities in and around the complex, adding that a taskforce team comprising of the officers of the State Environment and Special Offences Enforcement Unit and other relevant law enforcement units have been stationed at the complex to ensure that security and sanity prevails at the facility.
He said, “Operations in the abattoir after the recent clean-up exercise will no longer be business as usual. We are committed to implementing in phases planned projects that will transform the abattoir around for good and ensure adequate security and sanity in the complex”.
The Commissioner explained further that the government will continue to maintain a hygienic and environment-friendly abattoir within the State, stressing that the Taskforce at the Oko-Oba abattoir will be on ground for six months to ensure strict compliance with laws guiding operations at the complex.
On the significance of the facility upgrade at the complex, Suarau said that the State government has a model which is aimed at ensuring a healthy and hygienic meat production and consumption by residents.
“I, therefore, urge all stakeholders to give maximum support to the government in achieving these standards”, he said.
He reiterated that the State government is committed to ensuring that Lagos remains a food secured place and that it is ready to overcome all challenges threatening wholesome production and consumption of meat in Lagos.He urged all residents to support the efforts aimed at attaining food security in Lagos, noting that food security and hygienic environment occupies the front burner of the present administration's policies to facilitate job and wealth creation as well as reduce poverty in the State.
