 Nigerian military jet crashes in Niger A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Alpha Jet has reportedly crashed near Karabonde, Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State, on Saturday evening, December 6. Unconfirmed reports from local sources clam that the two pilots onboard survived the incident after successfully ejecting from the aircraft. A Niger state-based digital television network, Lapai TV, announced the tragic incident  in a post on its official Facebook account on Saturday evening, December 6. The post, accompanied by a one-minute video, read, “Two Nigerian Air Force Pilots Reportedly Survive Alpha Jet Crash Close to Karabonde, Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State”. It was reported that the two pilots successfully ejected before the aircraft went down. Meanwhile, the Nigerian military has yet to make any official statement concerning about the crash as of the time of filing this report.

     Gov Simon Lalong of Plateau state on Tuesday  said the relevant laws to try perpetrators of the recent attacks on the Plateau will soon be signed into law.
Gov Lalong stated this while receiving the former Head of State and National Chairman of Nigeria Prays, Gen. Yakubu Gowon (rtd) who visited the Governor.
 A statement signed by Yakubu Dati, the Commissioner of Information and made available to newsmen in Jos the Plateau state capital reads that "Gov Lalong said "we've reviewed adequate laws to prosecute offenders in Jos".
He commended the former Head of State for standing by the State as a father promising all efforts are being made to restore the State to it's place of glory."We will ensure the enthronement of sustainable peace on the Plateau." He added.Gen Yakubu Gowon who was in Jos to commenserate and sympathize with the people over this heinous crime decried the past practice where suspects arrested were taken to Abuja and eventually released.He added that "People arrested should be investigated and prosecuted in Jos where the crime was committed"He condemned social media reports blaming President Buhari as unfortunate stating that "the Buhari I know will not be involved, certainly no leader will encourage his people to be killed.".Gen Yakubu Gowon was also received by Prof Sonni Tyodden, Deputy Governor, members of the State executive council including the SGS, Chief Rufus Bature and the Chief John Dafaan, the Chief of Staff.More photos below.
