 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. SENATOR AKUME CONDOLES WITH PLATEAU GOV. TODAY OVER KILLINGS.{PHOTO}.

      Former Governor of Benue state  and serving Senator representing   Sen George Akume on Friday paid a condolence visit on the Executive Governor of Plateau State Simon Lalong  over the recent attacks in Gashish Districts and other parts of the Northern Senatorial districts of the state which led to the loss of over 200 lives.
A statement by Emmanuel Nanle ,the director of Press and Public affairs to Gov Lalong Emmanuel Nanle reads that  The Senator commiserated with the entire peace loving people of the state and called on all to rally round the governor as he joins hands with the federal government to put an end to the repeated attacks by marauding herdsmen which he said are not only limited to plateau. He said" this is the time for plateau to stand united and not to allow any political or ethnic difference make citizens loose sight of the common collective battle it must fight for the restoration peace".The statement also reads that the Ex Governor was accompanied by some stakeholders from Benue state.
