 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.      The Presidential Committee on Flood Assessment, has visited Ogun State, to access the extent of damage of the recent flash flood in the state.Chairman of the Presidential Committee, Prof. Emmanuel Adanu, speaking to news men, after visiting Governor Ibikunle Amosun in his office in Abeokuta today, said the committee would access the technical profile of the rivers and make recommendations to the Federal Government, in accordance with its mandate.Adanu, who said his team visited Odo-Eran, Oke-Lantoro, Ogun River and other affected areas, assured that necessary action will be taken as soon as the committee submits it's reports.The state Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Bolaji Oyeleye, also speaking, said necessary data has been collected for analysis and recommendations.He added that the team also offered advise on how to convert such volume of flood into positive use, assuring that measures will be taken to prevent future occurrence. @ Abeokuta.More photos below.
