  A manhunt is underway for man who shot a Granite City Police Officer multiple times. Officers in Granite City, Illinois, responded to a call regarding a unwanted subject near the 2000 block of Johnson Road at 2:20 p.m. on Friday, December 5th. Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with the suspect. The suspect opened fire on officers before fleeing the scene.  Unfortunately, one officer was struck multiple times. The officer was rushed to a St. Louis University Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.  A massive manhunt is now underway to locate the suspect. Authorities warn the public that the man is considered armed and dangerous. ARMY ENCOUNTERS BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS IN BORNO STATE.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

    1. Troops of Sector 3 Operation LAFIYA DOLE deployed at Mairari in conjunction with Civilian Joint Task Force while on routine patrol in Mairari and environs on Sunday 7 October 2018 encountered suspected Boko Haram terrorists.
2. A member of the Boko Haram terrorists was neutralised while several others fled into nearby bushes with gunshot injuries during the encounter.
3. Items recovered include:
a. One AK47 rifle.
b. Four Magazines.
c. One 36 Hand Grenade.
d. 13 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition.
4. Unfortunately, a member of the Civilian Joint Task Force sustained gunshot wound and has since been evacuated to Sector 3 medical facility for attention.
5. The public is therefore advised to report any suspicious movements or activities in their area to security agency for prompt action.
