  A manhunt is underway for man who shot a Granite City Police Officer multiple times. Officers in Granite City, Illinois, responded to a call regarding a unwanted subject near the 2000 block of Johnson Road at 2:20 p.m. on Friday, December 5th. Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with the suspect. The suspect opened fire on officers before fleeing the scene.  Unfortunately, one officer was struck multiple times. The officer was rushed to a St. Louis University Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.  A massive manhunt is now underway to locate the suspect. Authorities warn the public that the man is considered armed and dangerous. UNKNOWN GUN MEN SHOT A FINAL YEAR STUDENT YESTERDAY AT OKO POLYTENIC.{GRAPHIC PHOTOS}.

A young man in his late 20's has been shot dead by armed robbers at the permanent site of Federal Polytechnic Oko campus.
The young man who's name could not be ascertained as at the time of the incident yesterday night (01/11/2018), was revealed to be a final year student of the department of Banking and Finance of the Polytechnic.
Students who resides at the Permanent Site of the school campus, scampered for safety at the sound of gunshots only to discover the young man lying in the pool of his blood when calmness returned.
The reason for his shooting to death is not yet clear but many students alleged that, he was dragging his Android phone with the robbers, before he was shot and the presumed robbers sped off on their motorbike.
Many parts of Federal Polytechnic Oko, are becoming unsafe for students, who have become targeted victims of organised crime, notorious among which is phone snatching at nights.
