 Terrorists, banditry activities in Northwest have reduced – Shehu Sani Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has disclosed a decrease in the activities of terrorists and bandits in the Northwest. Sani said the recent killings of some top terrorists’ leaders could have been responsible for the decrease. Posting on X, the former lawmaker wrote: “In the last few weeks, there is a noticeable decrease in terrorist and banditry attacks and kidnappings in the North Western parts of this country. “The elimination of some of the top terrorist leaders must have been responsible.This is commendable and should be sustained.” In the past weeks, notable bandit leaders have been killed in the North. Those eliminated include- Haliru Kachalla Sububu or Buzu, Kachalla Tukur Sharme (killed by rival gang), Sani Black, another prominent bandit leader, killed along with his brother and two children, Kachalla Makore, Kachalla Mai Shayi Kachalla Tsoho Lulu and Mai’Yar Gitta.       Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has dedicated to Benue people, the award presented to him yesterday by DAAR Communications Plc, owners of Africa Independent Television (AIT) and Ray Power FM.
Governor Ortom won the award of the most Outstanding Governor of the Year for his solidarity with Benue people against all odds. The event took place at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
Receiving the award on behalf of the Governor, his Chief of Staff, Hon. Terwase Orbunde praised God for the wisdom and courage He gave the Governor to steer the affairs of Benue State.
He thanked the people for the support they have given the Governor in the past three and a half years and dedicated the award to them. He equally appreciated other Nigerians for the goodwill, encouragement and love shown his principal.
Hon Orbunde said the award would inspire Governor Ortom to do greater things, giving assurance that the present administration would not relent in standing with Benue people in good and challenging times.
The Chief of Staff was accompanied to the award ceremony by Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Terver Akase.More photos below.
