 ‎‎NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION ‎ The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges.  ‎ ‎A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters  and two H-125 helicopters. ‎ The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. ‎ ‎The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, described the acquisition as another significant milestone in the Federal Government’s sustained investment in the modernization and re-equipment of the NAF noting that the new pl...

I 'LL SUE THOSE WHO PEDDLE LIES AGAINST ME - ORTOM.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

     Governor Samuel Ortom has stated that he would sue those who peddle lies against him for cheap political purposes.
He spoke today at the Benue Peoples House Makurdi while swearing in six acting council chairmen and two commissioners saying he would take the action to protect his hard earned reputation.
The Governor said his objective will not be to make any monetary gains but to prove to the public that allegations of misappropriation of funds against him by members of the opposition were blatant lies meant to disparage his name.
He noted that if himself or any of his lieutenants had been involved in misappropriation of funds, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, which he said has become a harrassment tool of the federal government to fight perceived opposition members would have indicted them.
The Governor charged the newly sworn in commissioners and acting chairmen to shun the temptation of pilfering resources at their disposal, stressing that his administration would not spare anybody found guilty of misappropriation of funds.
He stated that the appointment of the acting chairmen became necessary following the suspension of the affected chairmen, their deputies and leaders as the case may be, for gross misconduct, misappropriation of funds and abuse of office.
The Governor charged the new appointees to quickly settle down for government business, noting that government could not be allowed to operate in a vacuum.
He urged them to discharge their duties without blemish even in the wake of electioneering campaigns.
Mr. Ekpe Ogbu, who was assigned Commissioner in charge of Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, and Mrs. Lynn Goon, acting council chairperson for Makurdi while responding on behalf of the other appointees pledged their commitment and loyalty.
They said they were honoured to be found worthy to serve in their various capacities.
Mrs. Amina Audu was assigned to the Mimistry of Arts, Culture and Tourism.
Messrs. Var Tersoo, Omale Vincent, Solomon Kighir, Achaji Oyigoche and Mrs. Ode Evelyn were sworn in as acting chairmen and chairperson for Gboko, Okpokwu, Kwande, Agatu and Oju local government areas respectively.More photos below.
