 Nigerian Pilots and Crew Released in Burkina Faso, Head to Portugal Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, has announced the release and departure of the pilots and crew of the Nigerian Air Force C-130 Hercules aircraft (NAF 913) that had been detained in Burkina Faso. In a statement issued on Thursday, Ambassador Tuggar confirmed that  following  engagement in Burkina Faso, the pilots and crew of NAF C-130 (913) have been formally cleared to depart and are currently en route to Portugal via Accra. The minister highlighted Nigeria’s commitment to dialogue and regional cooperation, stating that these efforts continue to yield positive outcomes. Ambassador Tuggar paid glowing tribute to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his visionary leadership and steady guidance which he said proved decisive in resolving the matter through constructive diplomacy and peaceful engagement.

NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR WOMEN SOCIETIES YOBE STATE PRESENT HEROES' AWARD TO CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

      The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai has been presented with a “Heroes' Award" by the National Council of Women Society (NCWS), Yobe State branch, today Monday, 28th January 2019. The presentation was done at the at Headquarters Sector 2, Operation LAFIYA DOLE, Damaturu.
Making the presentation to the COAS, through the Acting Commander Sector 2, Operation LAFIYA DOLE, Brigadier General Mohammed Dala, President NCWS, Hajiya Halima Joda, emphasized that the award was in recognition of the courageous and exemplary leadership by the COAS and the professionalism exhibited by the troops of the Nigerian Army since his assumption of office. She further stated that, “The efforts of the Nigerian Army cannot be overemphasized in all aspects of live today in Nigeria, more especially in the areas of protecting the territories of our Nation from all forms of terrorists attack’’.
Receiving the award on behalf of the COAS, the Acting Commander, Sector 2 Operation LAFIYA DOLE, Brigadier General Mohammed Dala, appreciated members of the organization for their kind gesture and for deeming it fit to present an award of such magnitude to the COAS. He further said that this award will serve as morale booster to Officers and Soldiers of the Nigerian Army, who are currently confronting various security issues across the country.
Brigadier General Dala, later presented sewing and grinding machines to members of NCWS Yobe state branch and urge them to use the items donated by the Nigerian Army Department of Civil-Military Affairs, for the empowerment of the less privileged and widows in the society.
