 ‎‎NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION ‎ The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges.  ‎ ‎A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters  and two H-125 helicopters. ‎ The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. ‎ ‎The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, described the acquisition as another significant milestone in the Federal Government’s sustained investment in the modernization and re-equipment of the NAF noting that the new pl...

AMBODE APPOINTS PROVOST FOR LAGOS COLLEGE OF NURSING.#PRESS RELEASE.

    The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has approved the appointment of Mrs. Oyefunso Orenuga as the pioneer Provost of the Lagos State College of Nursing, Midwifery & Public Health Nursing, Igando.
According to a statement issued by the Office of the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, in approving the appointment, the Governor had taken due cognisance of her integrity, selfless service and record of impressive performance.
The new Provost attended the University of Ibadan for her first degree and graduated with a Second Class Upper Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc) in Nursing Education'
Mrs. Orenuga also obtained a Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) from the same institution and became a Registered Nurse (RN) with distinction in Maternal and Child Health as well as a Registered Midwife (RM) in the University College Hospital Ibadan in 1978 and 1980 respectively.
She got certified as a Registered Nurse Tutor (RNT) by the Nursing & Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) in 1984.
A seasoned Public Health practitioner with bias in population and productive health education, her nursing background spans over two decades with local and international work experience in various capacities.
Before her appointment as Provost, Orenuga had served three terms as the coordinator of the school which was upgraded to a College of Nursing in 2018.
She also worked as the National Consultant, Support to In-Country Technical Appraisals for DFID/Option End FGM/C Social change campaign as well as Consultant to Foundation for Women’s Health Research and Development (FORWARD UK) on Rapid Participatory Action Research for young girls.
