 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. The APC Nasarawa State wish to express its deepest concern on video clip that has gone viral in the social media which shows Rt. Hon. Godiya Akwashiki, a Senator-elect on the platform of our great party being beaten and stripped naked.
We condemn in the strongest terms this barbaric act. It is unfortunate that this obnoxious act could be meted on a public figure of this high status, no matter the alleged offence.
It behooves on our esteem party to appeal to our teeming members, and supporters to remain calm and law abiding. All and sundry should restrain themselves from taking the law into their hands.
The party has already set machinery in motion with a view to investigating the incident, in order to establish the facts, and truth of the matter.
Be rest assured that any one found to be involved in this unfortunate incident, and is a member of the APC, will be sanctioned in accordance with the party constitution, just as the party will also allow the laws of the land to take it's due course.
We enjoin all those that could be affected by this incident to exercise patience while the investigation is in progress.
