 Terrorists, banditry activities in Northwest have reduced – Shehu Sani Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has disclosed a decrease in the activities of terrorists and bandits in the Northwest. Sani said the recent killings of some top terrorists’ leaders could have been responsible for the decrease. Posting on X, the former lawmaker wrote: “In the last few weeks, there is a noticeable decrease in terrorist and banditry attacks and kidnappings in the North Western parts of this country. “The elimination of some of the top terrorist leaders must have been responsible.This is commendable and should be sustained.” In the past weeks, notable bandit leaders have been killed in the North. Those eliminated include- Haliru Kachalla Sububu or Buzu, Kachalla Tukur Sharme (killed by rival gang), Sani Black, another prominent bandit leader, killed along with his brother and two children, Kachalla Makore, Kachalla Mai Shayi Kachalla Tsoho Lulu and Mai’Yar Gitta. Man hacks 99-year-old aunt to death for not winning lottery
      Police in Ogun State have arrested a 29-year-old man, Owolabi Folorunsho, for allegedly hacking his 99-year-old aunty to death.
The suspect was said to have been arrested following a distress call received by the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Ago-Iwoye, CSP Ade Adedoyin, that the a middle-aged man had butchered his aunt, Ebunola Aroboto, to death.
It was learnt that the incident occurred at Maraisa Lane, Igan Road, Ago-Iwoye, yesterday.

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said immediately the DPO received the distressed call, he quickly led his detectives to the scene where the suspect was promptly arrested and the machete used by the suspect was recovered at the scene.
Oyeyemi said during interrogation, the suspect admitted killing the old woman with a machete because he had an inclination that the woman was responsible for most of his spiritual problems.
He said: “The suspect was a regular player of lottery game and whenever he is sure of wining, the deceased, who was his father’s elder sister, will use her supernatural power to change the winning number, which prevented him from winning.”
Oyeyemi added that the body of the deceased had been deposited at the Ijebu-Ode, General Hospital, for post-mortem examination.
According to the PPRO, the state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), DCP Wale Abass, to take over the case and ensure diligent prosecution of the suspect.
